70 Years of Aloe: The Story Behind CURE

70 Years of Aloe: The Story Behind CURE

In 1955, Kim Jeong Moon began growing aloe vera on Jeju Island — South Korea's volcanic island off its southern coast. Korea was in the early years of reconstruction after the war. Skincare as an industry barely existed. The idea of building a business around a single plant, grown on a remote island, was not an obvious one.

Seventy years later, CURE by Kim Jeong Moon Aloe has sold over ten million units. It remains one of Korea's most recognized skincare brands — passed down through families, recommended by dermatologists, used by people who have been loyal customers for decades.

What's remarkable about CURE's story is what didn't change. The aloe is still grown on Jeju Island. The farming approach is still based on the original 1,000-day growth cycle. The formulation philosophy — pure aloe, no unnecessary additives — is still the foundation of every product in the range.

In an industry built on novelty, on new ingredients and new claims every season, CURE has simply kept doing what worked. The volcanic soil of Jeju produces exceptional aloe. Grow it slowly. Harvest it at peak concentration. Use it as the primary ingredient.

Korea's skincare industry has exploded globally over the past decade — what the world calls K-beauty has become a multi-billion dollar export. CURE predates all of it by half a century. It's not a trend. It's a heritage brand that trends caught up to.

We are proud to be Canada's official retailer — bringing this product to Canadians who want skincare with a real story behind it, not just good packaging.
